Our Philosophy
Jewelry carries stories long before it reaches a showcase. It is passed down through families, gifted during life’s important moments, rediscovered in estates, and shaped by the hands of skilled craftspeople across generations. Our work is rooted in understanding and honoring that journey.
Founded through a shared passion for gemology, education, and the jewelry trade, our team brings together professional expertise with a deeply personal approach. As GIA-trained Graduate Gemologists, we believe jewelry should be understood not only for its beauty, but for its craftsmanship, materials, history, and real market value.
With backgrounds spanning gemology, geology, jewelry evaluation, estate buying, and industry sourcing, we work closely with private clients, families, and industry professionals to provide thoughtful guidance in an environment that feels approachable, honest, and supportive. Whether evaluating inherited jewelry, helping clients sell pieces they no longer wear, sourcing unique treasures, or providing professional appraisals, our focus remains the same: education, transparency, and relationships built on trust.
This is not simply a business about jewelry. It is about helping people feel informed, comfortable, and confident when navigating pieces that are often deeply personal. We understand that behind every ring, necklace, gemstone, or collection is a story, and we consider it a privilege to help our clients understand and care for those pieces with professionalism and integrity.
Danielle, GIA Graduate Gemologist
From earning her Master’s in Geology, being a nominated graduate of the exclusive Institute of Georgia Environmental Leadership (IGEL) program to becoming a GIA Graduate Gemologist, Danielle’s path mirrors the journey of the gems she cherishes: founded in the earth, understood through science and practice, and ultimately transformed into finished pieces.
Before entering the jewelry trade full time, Danielle built a successful career in Customer Experience, operations, and process improvement with a Fortune 500 logistics company. That background shaped the organized, client-focused, and transparent approach she brings to the jewelry supply chain, estate jewelry, precious metals, inventory evaluation, and sourcing.
Danielle’s deeper move into the jewelry business was also inspired by family. After encouraging her older son to pursue his GIA Graduate Gemologist diploma, based on his early passion for gems and jewelry, Danielle followed a similar path. Today, she works alongside both of her sons through their family business, Ayan Jewelry, buying from the public and offering curated gem and jewelry opportunities.
Through Atlanta Gems & Jewelry, Danielle collaborates with trusted jewelry partners who offer complementary expertise while maintaining her own independent services through Ayan Jewelry. Her work is rooted in education, trust, and straightforward communication — helping clients feel informed, respected, and confident throughout the buying and/or selling process.
